Many schools across the nation are going green; through energy conservation and recycling programs, solar panels, buying educational and cafeteria supplies (and produce) locally, planting gardens and trees, composting, and most of all, integrating the students, and the whole community in the decision making process to facilitate learning and community building!
There are fantastic programs, many of them completely free or very low cost, that help guide the whole process along, for instance, check out the the Green Schools Manual, put out by the organization, Youth for Environmental Sanity (YES)
This workshop can be presented to a small committee, or to a large community audience.
Resources, partner programs, and real world examples of energy efficient schools are presented and discussed.
This is a new program - please call for more information.
